The Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate was established as part of the policy to develop the eastern seaboard of Thailand. Currently, Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate serves as a significant
manufacturing base for petrochemical, chemical products, iron and metal, as well as refineries.
We were commissioned to undertake a Master Plan design of Phase 3, 4 and new areas of Map-Ta-Phut Industrial Estate We undertook site and regional research prior to preparation of the master-plan and identified a need for developing a mix of heavy and supporting industries for phase III, a mix of non-industrial (business and R&D park) and industrial (Light and hi-tech) for Phase IV and a development based on the concept of eco-industrial park for the new areas.
Efforts were also made to address the present traffic and transportation problems by proposing key junction redesigns to alleviate traffic bottle necks. Provision of business and research park
including conference, exhibition, training and skill development facilities were added.
Major efforts were also made to improve the environmental quality within the estate
through provision of green buffers and parks and proper location and mix of land
uses and supporting facilities
