NIST International School located in CBD Bangkok initiated a large project to develop a short term and long term improvement strategy for the school and develop a planning strategy that addresses the challenges posed by growing educational demands and changing technology
Our master planning and building design objectives focused on creative ways to;
|Yield new educational space
Improve quality of existing facilities
Improve pedestrian circulation
Segregate vehicle & pedestrian entrance focus
Enhance the school appearance and environment
|Overcome constraints of a tight urban campus
Improve space usage efficiency by grouping shared facilities & equipment
Improve health & safety
Facilitate access for the disabled
Improve energy efficiency in the buildings
After extensive surveys, and debates with schools board, student body and parents, the final master plan emerged as a combination of renovation of 4 old buildings and the development of 5 new buildings.
The architecture is deliberately bold with integrated geometric forms aimed at stimulating
curiosity of students in this educational environment.
